combined amendment/clarification to the above request for quotation.
This announcement will constitute the only amendment vehicle; no
further written documentation will follow. Based upon vendor inquiries,
the following clarifications are provided: ITEM # 3 - What does 850
Multimode represent? Is this cable to be inside or outside cable?
Plenum or Riser? Buried or Arial? How many feet are needed? ANSWER -
850 ft length of 6 strand heavy duty (indoor/outdoor) ruggedize gel
fiber. Riser rated Pre-connected with ST ceramic connectors and
pulling-eye. ** NOTE: MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 63 LBS PULLING WEIGHT. ITEM
# 4 - Same questions as item # 3? ANSWER - 500 ft length with same
answers as Item # 3. ** NOTE: MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 63 LBS PULLING
WEIGHT. ITEM # 8 - What does ST-ST MM500 represent? How long? ANSWER -
Same answers as item # 4. 500 feet. ** NOTE: MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 63
LBS PULLING WEIGHT. ITEM # 9 - What is a Patch Bay for Modem? Part # is
not Interlink #? ANSWER - 24 Port RJ45 Patch Panel to be connected to
Modems. ITEM # 10 - Hinged wall brackets for what? Who is Andrew?
ANSWER - Used to house equipment where a cabinet or rack is not
suitable. ANDREWS AFB, MD. ITEM # 11 - Female to Female what? What is
the pin count if any? ANSWER - Stand 25 pair amphenol female to female
connector cable 6 feet length. ITEM # 21 - 19'' Front mount shelves
for what? Part # and Manufacture? ANSWER - Standard 19 in. wide rack
mountable shelves to hold various type of LAN equipment. Any part # or
manufacture. QUESTION - Do you require the fan assembly to be top
mounted or in a fan tray for the cabinets? ANSWER - Need is for top
mounted assemblies to keep standardization. QUESTION - Are there any
other accessories required in the cabinets? ANSWER - All enclosed
cabinets need to be lockable. Also they need to be at least24W x 30D x
72H. QUESTION - Please provide a specification for the fiber optic
cable's heavy jacketrequirement? ANSWER - The 6000 feet of heavy
jacketed fiber needs to be of direct bury capability. QUESTION - Can
you provide more information for items #11 and #19? ANSWER - Item #11
is a standard riser fiber patch cable with FDDI and ST ceramic
connectors. Item #19 is a 500ft fiber cable of 6 strand multimode with
heavy (buried rated) jacketed, pull-eyes and ST ceramic connectors.
QUESTION - Is item #18 a non-plenum requirement? ANSWER - Yes this is
a non-plenum requirement. (But must be buried rated with pull-eyes and
ST ceramic connectors). QUESTION - What is the fiber count for item #8
and what is the length? ANSWER - This is NOT a cable. The item refers
to an accessory of a fiber test kit.The CLOSING DATE for this RFQ is
extended through 20 September 1996, 2:00 PM Eastern Standard
