Under an expired contract with Trandes, CDC accomplished a project that anticipated final deliverables including three manuscripts entitled Age-Specific Impact of Influenza A Epidemics on Mortality, Cities Surveillance System Allows Rapid Documentation of Pneumonia and Influenza-Related Mortality, and Influenza-Related Mortality Reflects Pneumonia and Influenza-Related Hospitalizations. The majority of this work was completed by Dr. Lone Simonsen, a consultant to Trandes under the contract. Ms. Simonsen served as principal investigator/author of the three manuscripts to be completed.
