16 -- LOGISTIC SUPPORT FOR THE PIONEER REMOTELY PILOTED VEHICLE POC Contact, Frank Fisher, Phone (703)604-0903 The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a fixed price contract, on a sole source basis, to Pioneer UAV, Inc. (PUI), 9 Schilling Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030 for logistic support for the Pioneer RPV. The contract will cover logistic support for the Pioneer RPV for fiscal year 1998 with an option for fiscal year 1999. The logistic support will consist of Contractor field service representatives providing engineering assistance and hands on technical support, on-site, to Pioneer RPV units of the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, and the Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Division located at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD. This support will also be provided while the Pioneer units are deployed away from their home bases. The Contractor will also provide in-plant and/or onsite engineering services and in-plant supply support for the Pioneer RPV. The Government does not own, nor does it intend to procure, the data/drawing package for the Pioneer RPV and therefore, is unable to competitively procure the Pioneer RPV logistic support . PUI is the sole supplier of the Pioneer RPV and is the only source with the knowledge and capability to provide the logistics support in the time frame required. No solicitation is available.
