13 -- FACILITY NEEDED TO MELT POUR EXPLOSIVES INTO 120MM HE MORTAR BODIES POC Contact Mr. Michael Taylor, (201) 724-6183. This is a market survey to identify commercial sources having ammunition production capabilities to melt/pour Composition B explosives into 120mm Mortar high explosive projectiles, at a minimum rate of one thousand (1,000) acceptable projectiles per 8 hour shift. Interested sources shall respond by providing detailed information on the following to Mr. Michael Taylor, AMSTA-AR-FSA-M, Bldg. 94, by October 31, 1996: (1) Melt/Pour production equipment to be utilized, including melt kettles, pour machines, controlled cooling equipment, process controls, and any other applicable equipment information, (2) Inspection equipment and methods to be utilized for ensuring that the projectiles meet the quality requirements of ECP M4Q2057, and (3) Overall facility capabilities to include projected production output, safety and environmental compliance, quantity distance capability, and experienced personnel. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information received.
