HSC/YAK anticipates award of production options for the Universal Water Activated Release System (UWARS). The system is a self contained, fully automatic parachute canopy release system for Frost and Koch parachute release fittings. The system operates as backup to the manual operation to release the parachute upon immersion into seawater. It is estimated at this time that total award will be approximate 325 UWARS, First Article test required. The Government anticipates award for UWARS production Option 3 to Conax Florida Corporation, ST Petersburg Florida on or about 1 DEC 96. (0295)
