The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Export Administration of Economic Development Administration, the Small Business Administration, McDonnell Douglas, and the American Electronics Association are jointly sponsoring a Technology Transfer program, ``Commercialization of Defense Technology'', on Tuesday, November 19, 1996, at the Clayton Plaza Holiday Inn, Clayton, MO. The objectives of the conference are to introduce small-and medium-sized businesses to the Federal Defense Laboratory System, outline what help and funding is available, and to give an overview of the technologies that are available for commercialization. The forum, focusing particularly on technologies for the aerospace industry, will also offer the opportunity to meet with the executives, engineers, and scientists who are responsible for these technologies and their transfer to the private sector in a unique one-on-one setting. Invited speakers include Dr. Allen Atkins, Vice President, Product Application Technology, McDonnell Douglas. Additional speakers will discuss sources of financing, the legal aspects of technology transfer, and examples and success stories. Each attendee will be given a copy of the newly released President's report, Technology in the National Interest, a catalog of technologies available for licensing from DOE Defense Laboratories, a set of briefing documents, information on other government resources available, and a participants list.
