Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement for service to
excavate and replace sand in the soil test pits to perform foundation
experiments. Service shall be conducted as needed over a 24-month
period. The test pit dimensions are 18'x23'x20'. A backhoe with
operator, compaction equipment, ladder and crew are necessary to
excavate and refill test pits with soil. The location is the
Turner-Fairbanks Highway Research Center in McLean, Virgina. This is a
Simplified Acquisition and the FHWA's threshold is $100,000. This
requirement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The RFQ issue date will
be 11/04/96. All responsible sources may submit a request for the RFQ
via fax number (202)366-3293. Anticipated award date is 12/04/96.
