233-4366 (Site Code DAAK60) The United States Marine Corps and the U.S.
Army Soldier Systems Command, Natick Acquisition Center is preparing to
release in Fiscal Year 1997 a Request for Proposals (RFP) for 11,312
AVC Helmet Systems including operator manuals and 227 ACVC spare parts
kits is planned. The system shall have improved enhancements and
features over the current family of standard DH-132, DH-132A, and
DH-132B Combat Vehicle Crewman Helmets to include: improved hearing
protection and communication, improvements to the suspension system and
ballistic shell, improved modular design for inter-operability and
compatibility with all CVC CE, and improved sizing, fit, and comfort.
The USMC ACVC helmet will be procured over two years and will be built
to the performance requirements of the ACVC Purchase Description
PD-A3261199. The Government requests industry to review and comment on
producibility of the improved ACVC helmet from the purchase
description. Draft copies of the ACVC Purchase Description are
available for review through SSCOM, NAC and comments to be returned to
NAC within 15 days. Draft RFP to be released on or about 18 Nov 96,
Final RFP to be released on or about 15 JAN 96. No other announcement
is to be released other than this notice. Interested firms should
request the Purchase Description, Draft RFP and Final RFP for the ACVC
Helmet System under one request. A determination to set-aside this
procurement for Small Business has not been determined. Firms shall
state in their request that it is/is not a small business concern and
that all or not all end items to be furnished will be manufactured or
