Z -- INSTALL OVERFLOW DRAIN PIPE AT ELEVATED FRESH WATER STORAGE TANK NO. 1558 AT THE NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD, PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA SOL N00187-96-Q-8932. Due 120196. The work includes all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, transportation and management necessary to install an overflow drain pipe on the elevated fresh water storage tank no. 1558. Contractor shall tie into the existing overflow pipe which has been previously installed. This pipe has a flange connection which the new drain pipe shall be tied into. This fresh water tank is elevated to a height of approximately 140 ft. The working height will be approximately 115 ft. Contractor shall be responsible for all field measurements. Contractor shall visit job site prior to submission of quotes to inspect job site. This job requires removal o f lead base paint. Work to be accomplished by means of a Firm Fixed Price type contract. The contract terms shall be for a period of 18 days. Plans and specifications will be made available on or about November 12, 1996. Estimated quote due date is 01 December 1996. This procurement falls under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures with an estimated range between $25,000 to $100,000.00. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Emerging Small Business Concerns. The SIC is 1711; the size standard is $3,500.00 DFAR 252-228-7707, ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT PROTECTIONS (AUG 1995) applied to this procurement. Upon award, contractor will be required to provide one of the following: A payment bond equal to 50% of the contract price, an irrevocable letter of credit, certificate of deposit, or certified or cashier's check, bank draft or Post Office money order.
