The United States Gemini Program will be accepting unfunded concept/feasibility design reports for a 5-25 micron mid-infrared astronomical scientific imager for operation on the Gemini 8-meter Telescopes in Mauna Kea, Hawaii and Cerro Pachon, Chile. The unfunded reports will augment a program which has contracted two conceptual design reports. All concept/feasibility reports, funded and unfunded, are confidential and are expected to be the precursor to a proposal for the complete design and fabrication of a mid-infrared imager. Those who submit a report, due January 13, 1997, will benefit from an oral review and feedback. Anyone interested in submitting a conceptual design report or in preparing a proposal to bid on the complete design and fabrication is to contact K.
