and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Finnigan MAT, 355 River
Oaks Parkway, San Jose, CA 95134 on a sole-source basis to provide a
Faraday cup multicollector array for the MAT 252 Mass Spectrometer;
manufactured by Finnigan MAT. The insert is necessary for the analysis
of krypton (m/e 78, 80, 82, 83, 84, and 86). In accordance with FAR
6.301-1, it has been determined that Finnigan MAT is the only
responsible source as the array has been designed by Finnigan MAT to
operate as an internal component of the mass spectrometer and interface
with the existing hardware and software. Therefore, Finnigan MAT is the
only source capable of meeting the agency's requirement. The required
delivery date is 01 March 1997. A solicitation document is not
