Laboratory has a requirement for a one-way video transmission/receiving
system capable of transmitting NTSC or PAL broadcast-quality video and
audio over an ATM/SONET network using 155 Mbps fiber optic (OC-3)
interfaces. The 19 inch rack mounted transmitter system shall consist
of a digitizing board, encoder board, network interface board, control
system, keyboard, software, monitor, mouse, necesary cables, manuals,
with video and input. The 19 inch rack-mounted receiver system
consists of a network interface board, control system, output board,
keyboard, software, monitor, mouse, necessary cables, and manuals, with
video and audio output. The video compression standard shall include
MPEG-2, with half D-1 resolution (350x480x30fps), upgrade to full D-1
resolution (704x480x30fps) at any time. The system shall be able to
transmit a broadcast-quality video and audio signal from any NTSC
source over the ATM network and output the signal for disply on a
