The monitoring studies include banding adults and chicks of several species, taking weights and measures of chicks of several species, estimating total populations, nesting populations, fledging success, mortality and other population parameters. Field data must be gathered during the two periods of peak nesting of the various species, spring and summer. Interim reports are required after each field trip, and an annual report is also required, comparing the current year's results with previous years. The Government provides transportation from Honolulu, Hawaii to Johnston Atoll; lodging and meals while at the atoll; and support services such as small boats for travel between islands. The proposed procurement is a 100 percent set-aside for small business (SB) concerns. The applicable SIC for this solicitation is 8731 and the maximum allowed for a concern, including its affiliates is 500 employees. The FSC code is B534. The approximate issue date is 9 Dec 96.
