The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Jamaica plans to award a contract for technical assistance to be provided to the Jamaica Exporters Association under the Small Business Export Development Project. This will be a twelve (12) month contract. The objective of this contract is to provide technical assistance, export information, and training services to Jamaican small businesses, and to strengthen the export development capacity of the Jamaica Exporters' Association (JEA). The services required by AID/Jamaica under this contract shall include: (1) assisting small businesses in industry, agriculture and services with the potential to generate or expand exports, identifying the specific technical assistance needs of these firms, and providing the needed TA services; (2) developing and implementing an export training program (conferences, workshops and seminars) for small businesses, including the needs of the producer groups in the agricultural sector; (3) constant upgrading and updating of the export services to small businesses.
