L -- BACKFIT, OPEN, INSPECT, REPAIR, ALTERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF RING LASER GYRO NAVIGATORS (AN/WSN-7) SOL N00024-97-R-4051 POC Chris Hannah, (703) 602-0200; Contracting Officer, Pete Troia, (703) 602-0200 The Naval Sea Systems Command will issue a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) to Sperry Marine, Inc., 1070 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22901-2891. Sperry Marine will perform the following functions under the subject BOA: (1) Provide on-board ship services to inspect in-place inertial navigation equipment and estimate the cost of its removal and replacement with government furnished Ring Laser Gyro Navigators (RLGN)(AN/WSN-7); (2) The removal of in-place inertial navigation equipment and replacement with government furnished RLGNs (AN/WSN-7); (3) Open and Inspect government furnished RLGNs (AN/WSN-7) and estimate the cost of work needed to restore the systems to their original design and technical specification; (4) Repair, alteration and maintenance of RLGNs (AN/WSN-7); (5) Provide replacement spares/components for the RLGNs (AN/WSN-7); (6) Provide pre-planned product improvement (P3I) for the RLGN (AN/WSN-7) equipment; and (7) Provide associated data. Sperry Marine, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the RLGN (AN/WSN-7) and as such is the only company qualified to perform the above services. No other source possesses the design for the RLGN (AN/WSN-7) or the requisite knowledge and experience necessary to perform the work described herein. See Numbered Note(s): 22 (0007)
