Pomraning, Contracting Officer (410-605-7156) The VA Maryland Health
Care System, Baltimore, Maryland intends to contract on a sole source
basis under the authority of FAR 6.202, with AMSCO for a full service
contract on the following AMSCO equipment: Washer/Sterilizer Model
Reliance 3400; Conveyor Equipment Model HRT; and, an Ultrasonic Washer
Model SC1224CD. This will include all costs for travel, parts
(excluding consumables), and labor. This will include a base year plus
four option years. Justification: This unique, essential equipment is
required for the safe and timely operation of this Medical Center.
Because these items are necessary for daily operation, and because of
its complex electro-mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and pneumatic
design, and because its repair history has indicated a high incidence
of breakdown, it is required that the item be maintained and serviced
by the manufacturer. This notice of intent is not a request for
competitive proposals, however, contractors who wish to be considered,
can submit a request for solicitation package on or before January 24,
1997. Should no other vendor identify themselves by COB 1/24/97, the
