Ernest Woodson, (202) 501-1400. The General Services Administration
(GSA) is hosting its fourth and final networking session for the
purpose of enhancing subcontracting opportunities for small, small
disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses for the
Telecommunications Management procurement and the POST-FTS2000
acquisition. Additional networking sessions may be conducted for the
Technical support procurement of the acquisition. The FTS2000 program
is the voice/data communications system for the Federal government.
Connecting potential prime contractor and interested large businesses
include, AT&T Government Markets, Bell Atlantic Federal Systems, Bell
South Corporation, The Boeing Company, Computer Sciences Corporation,
EDS Government Services, IBM Government Systems, Government Systems,
Inc., MCI, GTE Government Services, IBM Government Systems,
Sprint-Government Systems Division, and TRW Systems Integration Group.
The estimated dollar value for the procurement is $25 billion. It is
anticipated that approximately 5 prime contracts and up to 80
subcontracts will be awarded under this procurement. The networking
sessions will allow the proposed competing prime contractors,
interested large businesses, and several groups of small, minority, and
women-owned businesses the opportunity to come together and exchange
business interest with the hope of establishing a contracting
relationship under the POST-FTS2000 acquisition. Subcontracts currently
in place under the existing FTS2000 contracts include: Local networking
arrangement, implementation and maintenance; Data capture/processing;
Word processing; Business information analysis; Training programs; ADP,
networking, and telecommunications support; Communication installation
and wiring; System integration support application systems; Systems
engineering and integration. To ensure that the potential prime
contractors and the small business representatives have effective
communications for establishing partnerships, only the first 80 small
businesses to register will be allowed to participate in this
networking session. Only one representative from each firm will be
admitted. Representatives that attended prior sessions are welcome to
participate in this final event. The fourth networking session is
scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., January 31, 1997, at The Holiday
Inn Central, 1501 Rhode Island Avenue, NW., Washington, DC 20005. If
hotel accommodations are necessary for the event, please contact the
Holiday Inn at (202) 797-1078. For your convenience, the Holiday Inn
will provide complimentary van transportation from the McPherson Square
Metro Station (White House Exit) every half hour from 7:30 a.m.-9:30
a.m., and an afternoon drop off during the event. There is no charge
