Y -- PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FIRE HOUSE 11,300 SF AT THE DELAWARE AIR NATIONAL GUARD SOL JLWS899788 DUE 021297 POC Major Jose Quintana, Contracting Officer (302)326-7355, Mary Brewin, Contract Specialist, (302)326-7358, Diane Chappius, Contract Specialist (302)326-7356 The description of the proposed construction project will include but not be limited to, providing all plant, labor, material, equipment, appliances and supervision required for the construction of the 11,300 SF Fire House.The floor slabs will consist of reinforced concrete foundations, floor slab, steel framed masonry walls, roof structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc. The building will house crash and fire rescue personnel for operations to include apparatus bays, storage spaces, administration areas and sleeping area as prescribed in the specifications. This solicitation will result in a construction contract which performance and payment bonding will be required. This will result in a firm fixed price award based upon a responsible and responsive lowest bidder's offer. All interested, capable, and responsible contractors are requested to send a written response to this announcement on company letterhead stating business type/size as small, large, 8a, or minority business by 12 February 1997. The applicable small business size standard including affiliates is no more than $17.0 million average annual revenue for the previous three years. The plans will be available for inspection without charge around May 21, 1997 at the Delaware Contractors Association, at 527 Christiana-Stanton Road, Newark, Delaware. The performance period is for 425 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed date. The anticipated award date is on or about 5 August 1997 with performance start date planned early September of 1997. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 1542. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Solicitation Package will be available on or about May 1997. There will be a charge for the Invitation for Bid (IFB) package. This amount will be stated in the Request for Souces announcement in mid March time frame. The optional project site visit is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, 20 May 1997 at the Delaware Air National Guard Base in the vicinity of the NewCastle County Airport in New Castle, Delaware. The tentative Bid Opening date is on or about 9 July 1997. A Request for Sources will be announced in the CBD near mid March time frame with definite dates. (0023)
