D -- PURCHASE OF MICROSOFT PREMIER SUPPORT SOL F33657-97-M-2014 DUE 021097 POC Contact Sue L. Tormey, 937/255-0445. Purchase of Microsoft premier technical support services. The Government intends to award sole-source to Microsoft for technical support services for one year. This support provides technicians with the ability to request support for up to 150 separate problems "incidents" per year. Technical support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Microsoft support services also include: premier service desk (www site exclusive to Premier customers), early assist phone beta support, licenses to access the Premier Web Site, single server, unlimited user license to TechNet, membership to the MS Developer Network, escalation management, orientation & planning conference, annual support checkup and evaluation and monthly status meeting by telephone. The statutory authority for other than Full and Open Competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304((1), only one responsible source. The anticipated award date is Feb. 15, 1997. See note (22). An Ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concern during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential offerors should use established channels to request information, pose questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
