Haun, Contracting Officer, 301-496-8613 the National Cancer
Institute(NCI) Laboratory of Molecular Carcinogenesis is centered on a
multifaceted study of cytochrome P450. The cytochrome P450 research
includes the areas of molecular biology, genetics, protein chemistry,
enzymology and nonoclonal antibody. We propose buying from
Perkin-Elmer, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA the following
items. The Series 200 Autosampler; Model 970A Interface, 20-bit, dual
channel, Model 785A uv/vis detector, Turbolon Spray and APCI-Heated
Nebulizer. All items shall be supplied and installed by a single
contractor having trained service engineers with experience in
interfacing to ensure compatibility with an existing Perkin-Elmer API
100B-001 mass spectrometer. The liquid chromatography autosampler shall
accommodate 96 well plates, and be controlled by an existing MacIntosh
computer and interface with an existing Perkin-Elmer API 100B-001. The
UV/VIS detector shall be capable of operating with a microbore HPLC
pump down to 10 ul/min and have the UV/VIS signal interfaced to a
MacInstosh computer for display with mass spectral data generated by
the existing Perkin-Elmer API 100B-001 mass spectrometer. The Turbolon
Spray and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization Heated Nebulizer
interfaces shall make use of a curtain gas for desolvation, be capable
of operating in alternating positive iion, mode negative ion mode, and
collision induced dissociation (CID) mode to provide structural, and be
controlled by a Government owned MacIntosh computer. Curtain gas is
required for complete operation of the existing Perkin-Elmer API
100B-001 mass spectrometer. The Turbolon Spray source when connected to
the bench top API 100B-001 mass spectrometer shall be capable of
generating a mass spectrum for Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and IgG
antibodies that cover them/z range of 300 to 3000. It is the
Government's belief that these requirements can only be met by
Perkin-Elmer Sciex Instruments. This is not a formal solicitation.
However, concerns that respond to this notice mustfurnish concise
responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above.
Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above shall
supply pertinent informationn in sufficient detail to demonstrate that
ability to perform. Information furnished shall include enough
material to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be
notified of the evaluation results. Information must be received within
20 days of the publication of this notice. See Note 22. (0030) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0310 19970203\66-0021.SOL)
