This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N00140-97-R-1263 (Request for Proposals). This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-45. Contract line item number 0001 is for one compact disc (CD) jukebox (storage device) with bundled jukebox software, to support a minimum of 850 Information Handling Services CDs, size 6" x 6", on the Norfolk Naval Shipyard's Local Area Network, the jukebox and software must be capable of supporting Banyan Vines DOS based clients running Banyan Vines 5.54 (20), Windows 3.1 and Windows NT 4.0 clients, and must include dual attached Fiber Data Distribution Interface (FDDI) network interface card connections to support 100 simultaneous users. Delivery is required within 30 days after date of contract award, delivered FOB destination to Norfolk Naval Shipyard, IRMO, Code 1230, Portsmouth, VA 23709, inspection and acceptance is at destination. FAR provision 52.212-1 applies, offerors shall comply with paragraph (b)(11) of 52.212-1. FAR provision 52.212-2 applies, addenda to 52.212-2(a): lowest price is the important evaluation factor, 52.212-2(b): options do not apply.
