COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 18,1997 PSA#178499 -- SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION FACILITIES MAINTENANCE INITIATIVE!!
The Defense Industrial Supply Center (DISC) is seeking proposals from
business entities interested in participating in an acquisition as a
Prime Vendor for a facilities maintenance supplies initiative. The
initiative will encompass all supplies associated with facilities
maintenance to include plumbing/HVAC/refrigeration, lumber, electrical,
small tools, paint, hardware and assorted fixtures. This is a
representative list and should not be considered exhaustive of all
products that will be required of the initiative. All items are brand
name specific and/or generic commercial products. A Prime Vendor, or
integrated supplier, can be defined as the designation of a single
source of supply for a wide range of products. The initial
implementation of the initiative in Southern California will take place
at the Port Heuneme Construction Battalion, the Barstow Marine Corp
Logistics Base and the San Diego Marine Corp Recruit Depot. Future
Potential implementation sites would include approximately thirty-seven
(37)military facilities located in the southwest part of the United
States to include California up to, but not including, San Francisco;
Arizona; Nevada and Utah. Prospective contractors should be able to
adequately support purchases that will range from a minimum of $1.5
million to $9.1 million for the initial implementation facilities with
a maximum potential of $93 million per year during the option years of
the contract. The maximum dollar value is contingent on the number of
facilities and the extent of the participation of those facilities at
any given time. Prospective contractors should have an on-line
Electronic Order Entry (EOE) system and have Electronic Data
Interchange (EDI) capability. Subject solicitation will be issued on an
unrestricted basis with the resultant contract being an Indefinite
Quantity Contract (IQC) for one base year with four(4)one-year options.
This will be a best value source selection acquisition in which
technical merit is considered more important than price.
SolicitationSP0500-97-R-0294, including the Statement of Work and
complete details and conditions, is expected to be issued on 04 March
1997 with an estimated closing date of 18 April 1997. To obtain further
