Canada. Requirement is to furnish, install and commission a 10-path Acoustic Scintillation Flowmeter (ASFM) system as a method for measuring discharge from intake bays of powerhouse turbine in conjunction with Kaplan turbine index testing. ASFM shall be installed on three government-furnished frames, which will fit into the intake gate slots. This device will measure flow using an acoustic scintillation drift technique, in which flows are measured in a turbulent medium by analyzing the variations (with position and time) of sound which has passed through it. Contractor shall also provide training for operating personnel. System installation is required no later than September 30, 1997, f.o.b. destination McNary Dam, Umatilla County, Oregon.
