(508)233-5286 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S Army Soldier Systems Command
(SSCOM) has a requirement for the procurement of a Modular General
Purpose Tent System (MGPTS). The MGPTS shall improve the Army's current
General Purpose (GP) tents in the following areas: habitability,
modularity, weight, erection/strike time, supportability, durability,
storage life, mobility, maintenance time, and configuration
versatility. The Government anticipates that this acquisition will
result in a single award of a Firm-Fixed-Price/Indefinite
Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contract consisting of one base and four
(4) option years. The base year will consist of up to 300 Low Rate
Initial Production (LRIP) MGPTS for First Article Inspection/Technical
Testing/Operational Testing and Field Evaluation. The option years
will state a minimum and maximum quantity. The minimum quantities
anticipated for each option year are 300 small, 2,000 medium and 30
large. The maximum quantities anticipated are 1,140 small, 6,000 medium
and 360 large. This acquisition will be conducted on a full and open
competitive basis, however, it will include Small and Small
Disadvantaged Business Subcontracting Goals of 30 percent for Small
Business and 5 percent for Small Disadvantaged Business, these goals
are based on the total value of the resultant contract. A DRAFT Request
For Proposals (RFP) will be available on or about 25 March 1997. An
Industry Pre-Proposal Conference is scheduled for 16 April 1997 at
9:00am (EST) at the SSCOM, Hunter Auditorium, Headquarters Building,
Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760-5011. Firms requesting a copy of the
DRAFT RFP shall submit the request in writing, Telephone calls WILL NOT
be accepted. Interested Parties shall submit any and all questions
concerning the DRAFT RFP in writing by 1200 NOON (EST) on or before 11
April 1997, Telephone calls WILL NOT be accepted. The Final RFP is
scheduled to be released on or about 25 April 1997 with a closing date
of 30 May 1997. Requests for the Final RFP shall be in writing.
Telephone calls WILL NOT be accepted. Allfirms that requested a DRAFT
RFP will be included in the mailing of the FINAL RFP, a separate
request is not required. Firms will not be reimbursed for any costs
associated with proposal preparation and/or the Pre-Proposal
Conference. The applicable SIC Code for this acquisition is 2394.
