301-981-2374 The Air Force requires Title I and Title II
Multi-Disciplinary Architect-Engineering services for
residential/commercial/hospital/industrial type facilities and
activities at Andrews Air Force Base and associated sites. Design work
includes the production of drawings, english, and metric standards,
specifications, estimates and related documents as required to execute
construction projects, surveys, investigations, fact finding studies
and economic analyses in support of design or proposed design
activities. All design documents shall be prepared in compatible word
processing format and all drawings shall be produced in CADD format.
Typical design work involves general Mechanical/Electrical engineering
projects involving the following types: (a) building alterations, (b)
repairs, (c) maintenance, (d) renovation, (e) additions to base
facilities. Project shall include all interior design and engineering
support (Arch/Civil) to provide proposals for a complete and usable
facility. Environmental concerns and asbestos abatement may be required
in various building repairs or renovations; the selected firm shall
have the capability to handle these requirements. Two separate
indefinite delivery contracts (IDC) shall be established through this
announcement. Period of award is one year with an optional one year
extension. Each IDC will have a maximum monetary limit of $750K with a
minimum of $37.5K, per IDC, per year. Individual work orders of up to
$299K may be written as part of the open-end, IDC. The starting date
of each contract will be approximately October 1997. Firms selected for
this work will be evaluated and ranked on the following criteria,
listed in order of decreasing priority: (a) specialized experience of
the firm in the type of work requested; (b) availability of experienced
key personnel; (c) capability of the firm to accomplish the work in a
timely manner; (d) past experience of the firm with respect to similar
level work; (e) location of the firm in the general geographical area
of the work; (f) volume of work previously awarded by the Department
of Defense. Architect-Engineer firms which meet the requirements
described in this announcement are invited to submit completed Standard
