The Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for an increase in the Other Direct Costs budget for existing Contract No. 68D60017 with Transcontinental Enterprises, Inc. The Facilities Support Services contract provides for varied types of facility support for EPA/RTP. The services include maintenance to assure continued operation of utility systems necessary for EPA office and complex, sophisticated laboratory renovations to continue operations without jeopardy to the safety and welfare of personnel and without jeopardy to critical on-going scientific experiments. EPA intends to enter into a sole source with Transcontinental Enterprises, Inc., P.O. Box 128, Dunn, NC 28335. It is EPA's belief that TEI is uniquely qualified to provide this facility support under the existing contract. EPA is certain that because of the necessity for a sole contractor to provide EPA/RTP with maintenance for the RTP facilities and also provide for major and minor laboratory modifications and alterations, there cannot possibly be another contractor that can provide EPA with such a need. Any other interested party who believes themselves to be qualified to provide facility support may submit in writing, to the above address within 30 days from this CBD notice. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using Part 12. No further public notice is anticipated. See Note 22. (0077)
