Contractor Engineering and Technical Services (CETS) in support of the following aircraft, aircraft weapons systems, airframes, associated equipment and/or other equipment as follows: AN/APS-127(V) 5 radar system and associated support equipment on the S-3 and P-3, and FLIR and associated SSE on the F-18. The proposed procurement is for 172 man months of services as currently estimated by Naval Aviation Engineering Service Unit (NAESU). The proposed effort will commence on 01 January 1998 and will run through 31 December 1998 (31 December 1999 if option is exercised). This effort will be covered by a new contract and/or provisional extension to the existing contract. This period covers the Government's minimum needs for this period. The solicitation will contain specification for Contractor Field Service representatives and other representatives (i.e., AFR, LSR) as appropriate. The place of performance is various Fleet and Shore Activities and are specified in the solicitation. The eventual contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Texas Instruments Corporation under the authority of FAR 6-302.1. Texas Instruments Corporation is the only supplier of these services at this time. This firm is the Original Equipment Manufacturer and the only known source with the required technical and engineering expertise, "in-plant" support, and requisite data base to perform the required services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. SEE NOTE 22. In accordance with Note 22,interested parties should submit, within forty-five (45) days from the publication of this notice, specific factual data; including byt not limited to: technical resumes, corporate management experience, and other pertinent information as so desited, to be used as an evaluation basis to determine competence to successfully perform the required services.
