Y -- PREQUALIFICATION OF GENERAL CONTRACTORS FOR THE STATE OF ARIZONA SOL 072976-97-A-0119 DUE 050597 POC Donna Johnson (303)220-6538, Solicitation Administration; Bill Tygret (303)220-6509, Project Manager This is a notice of intent to prequalify General Contractors desiring to be placed on prequalified contractor's list for a period of twelve months from notice of prequalification for the construction of new postal facilities and selected remodeling and alteration projects in various locations in Arizona and may include but not limited to: New Construction Owned in Chandler, Arizona -- approximately 26,500 gross square feet; New Construction Owned in Tucson, Arizona -- approximately 26,500 gross square feet and Repair and Alterations in Gilbert, Arizona -- approximately 29,500 gross square feet. All facility locations will include Postal Service unique features which may include postal retail stores and security measures. Estimated cost range is $400,000 to $4,000,000. Construction starting time is unknown at this time. Primary factors that will be considered are: construction experience, financial stability, bonding capacity, workload capacity and references from past clients. Other factors tobe considered are: project management capabilities and company organization, as further described in the prequalification package. Participation of MBE businesses is a consideration in USPS selections. Prequalification packages will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff. All firms will be notified within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalification status. No fewer than three and a target number of seven of the most highly qualified General Contractors will be placed on the prequalification list. Interested firms that meet the minimum criteria stated above, may obtain a Contractor Prequalification package by contacting Donna Johnson in writing.
