E-MAIL: Doug Hadley, Doug.E.Hadley@mro01.usace.army.mil. On or about 22 April 1997, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Dining Facility, Grand Forks AFB, ND. Bids will be opened on or about 22 May 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Grand Forks Resident Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. Box 247, Bldg. 214, GFAFB, Emerado, ND 58228, Telephone: (701) 594-5016/5575. FAX (701) 594-5526. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Construct a 2,500 square meters Dining Facility with all necessary support to house dining room, food preparation area, troop issue, food service management functions, serving areas, walk-in coolers and freezers, food storage areas, food preparation and serving equipment, offices, toilet and shower facilities, wet pipe fire sprinkler system, heating, entilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building exhaust systems and mechanical and electrical support areas. Building shall include: concrete foundations and floor slabs, brick masonry walls, exterior brick and glass block face, interior steel columns and girders, steel bar joists, and standing seam metal roofing. Project also includes relocation of a softball field; and the demolition of two existing buildings (which contain lead paint and asbestos.) The estimated construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000 and $7,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 600 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing and no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to one (1) per firm. An order blank for ordering plans and specifications is furnished below.
