FAX 910-251-4454 This is a sources sought synopsis for water
contractors (to provide gallons, liters, or bulk, etc.) who are
interested in providing water during emergency situations for the Corps
of Engineers, South Atlantic Division (SAD) (consisting of the states
of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina).
Interested contractors are required to submit information as follows:
Location(s) of their plants; response time; current production
capacity; production capacity during a SAD emergency contracting
period; transportation capability; availability of various type(s) of
containment (i.e. cans, half/liters, liters, gallons, bulk, etc.);
capability to provide certification of water quality; SAD states to
which water can be provided; price per unit for water provided; standby
time rates if trucks are delayed at destination; restocking charges if
necessary; pallet charge if required; emergency water may be required
at any time, but specifically during the hurricane season which is 1
June through 30 November. Interested contractors may submit the above
information to Sherrel Sholar-Jackson, at the Wilmington District Corps
of Engineers at PO Box 1890, Wilmington, NC 28402-1890 or by FAX at
910-251-4454. Information is required by 18 April 1997 to allow SAD to
prepare for the upcoming hurricane season. Later responses will be
