COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 15,1997 PSA#1824Department of Veterans Affairs, Contracting Officer (670 90A), Va
Medical Center, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210-2799 Q -- HOME HEALTH CARE SERVICES SOL 670-44-97 POC Sheila Smith,
Contract Specialist, (315) 476-7461, ext. 3601 (FAX 315-477-4509) The
VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York is performing a market survey to
evaluate feasibility of contracting on a network-wide basis for home
health care services for VA patients. Services would be utilized in
support of patients who need short term therapy courses such as IV
antibiotic administration, wound and dressing changes; physical
therapy; primary care; and rehabilitation services to negate or reduce
need for acute hospitalization. Services may also be extended to
chronic care patients as a means of avoiding institutionalization of
the patient. The Upstate New York network includes the entire catchment
areas of VA Medical Centers in Albany, Syracuse, Canandaigua, Bath, and
Buffalo. Preference would be given to working with large national or
regional providers, however, a consortium or network of independent
agencies would also receive strong consideration. This notice is to
request information for planning purposes only and is not a request for
pricing proposals. Interested parties capable of providing the above
services are invited to submit their qualification statement and
literature by 04/25/97. (0101) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0066 19970415\Q-0003.SOL)
