NASA/DFRC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for Security Services that provides uniformed armed security, administrative security support, protection of natural resources, security control center operations and locksmith services at NASA Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC), Edwards, California. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Numbered Note 26. This procurement is a total small business set-aside competition for small business administration (SBA) cerfified 8(a) firms. Offers from concerns other than certified 8(a) small business firms will not be considered. All responsible 8(a) certified sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about May 5, 1997 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about June 15, 1997, a preprosal conference is scheduled for May 28, 1997. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in ASCII or RTF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
