Gigon, Contract Specialist, 301-743-6682, Ruth Adams, Contracting Officer The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head Division, Contracts Department intends to award a sole source contract for the reformulation of the current formula of the propellant that is used in the 5 Inch 54 Calibre Gun Program (propelling charges). The reformulation will enable NSWC Indian Head to utilize BOFORS Explosive's U.S. patented process for future manufacturing of 5 Inch Propellant. The selected contractor is the only source with patent rights to the formulation process.
