Sought: The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to purchase a
SeaWifs Profiling Multichannel Radiometer (SPMR) System for the Great
Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This
system includes: (1) SeaWifs Profiling Multichannel Radiometer (FPMR)
system which acquires vertical profiles of optics, temperature, and
depth measurements in the ocean; (2) Power/Telemetry Cable (300 meters)
(CAB-300), which is terminated with connectors to connect the SPMR to
the deckunit power supply; (3) SeaWifs Multi-Channel Surface Reference
(SMSR), which serves as an in water, surface reference for the
profiling radiometer; and (4) 1 7-Channel Radiance Sensor. These items
will be purchased under the guidelines of FAR part 13, Simplified
Acquisitions Procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for
competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete
this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely
within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be
considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a
competitive procurement. Concerns having the ability to provide this
product are required to submit written notification to the procuring
office listed in this notice within 10 calendar days from the date of
this publication. Responses may be mailed to the address above or faxed
to telephone number 816-426-7530. In order to be considered, firms must
furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide a
product that will satisfy the Government's needs. Such information will
include a minimum: name, telephone number and point of contact, and
name and telephone number of firms to whom this supply or similar
supply has been provided previously. If no qualified responses are
received, pursuant to the authority 41 USC253 (c) (1), the Government
intends to contract with Satlantic Incorporated, Halifax, Nova Scotia,
