E-MAIL: Leta R. Neyman, leta_neyman@qmgate.dfrc.nasa.gov. NASA/DFRC plans to issue a Request for Offers for Safety Modifications to Aircraft Ramp and Tow Way. This project will enlarge the NASA-Dryden main aircraft apron by 12,000 square meters with 40cm thick concrete. Also included is the expansion of the existing tow way (3,000 square meters, 40 cm thick) to make it into a functional taxiway. An asphalt road (10,000 square meters, 8 cm thick) will be added to each side of the taxiway for vehicular traffic. Approximately 40,000 cubic meters of fill material will be required for the construction. The profect will also include the installation of taxiway lighting and overhead apron lighting and the relocation of existing utilities. Addititonal apron and tow way expansions will be included as bid options. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $1 million- $5 million and the effort shall be completed within 300 calendar days after notice to proceed. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1611. The corresponding size standard is $17 million. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about May 2, 1997 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about June 5, 1997. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Drawings will be available from the identified point of contact. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
