PRODUCT REALIZATION ENVIRONMENT (PRE) SOFTWARE The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), its laboratories, and production facilities are committed to helping businesses in the United States to improve the cycle from new ideas and product innovation to product development and commercialization. In order to achieve this goal, the DOE has put in place a program to transfer technologies developed at its laboratories to the private sector for commercial applications. DOE's objective in doing this is to establish mutually beneficial partnerships that can leverage advanced technologies and enhance U.S. position in the ever changing global market place. Sandia National Laboratories (Sandia) is one of the participating laboratories in this program. By this announcement, Sandia is soliciting expressions of interest from U.S. businesses for potential collaboration and licensing the following Sandia copyrighted software package. The software is titled Product Realization Environment (PRE) software. It is an information linking framework for various divergent type of activities/applications related to business, engineering and any other practices across organizational boundaries. This information linking is intended for people to people, people to machine, and machine to machine. It provides a common framework for information flow and product information management based on object-based approach. It provides a unified environment for users to interact with an entire system. It is location, hardware, implementation and language independent. Sandia would be interested in hearing from both end-users and those that may want to become a distributor (who can sub license to others) to PRE. This is not a solicitation.
