The Peace Corps plans to award a requirements contract for a facility that has lodging and conference rooms for training sessions. Single rooms with private baths must be available for 32 to 44 participants. Each room must be smoke-free or have no traces of smoke and have a comfortable chair; adequate reading light; desk space that can accomodate a laptop computer; and outlet for laptop computer use. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner must be provided for all participants and should include: entrees for vegetarians and other special dietary requirements; fresh fruit during at least two of the meals; a buffet for breakfast and lunch; and table service and menu selection for dinner. Dining service should have flexible hours to accomodate the varying schedules of the participants. Two conference rooms and three additional rooms must be provided. The first conference room must accomodate up to 36 participants and have sufficient tables and chairs to accomodate all participants seated in groups of five or six; additional space at either side or back of room for at least forty feet of table space; computer outlets and phone plug; telephone line and wall jack for long distance connection; and three flipcharts on stands. The second conference room must be large enough to accomodate a group of ten participants seated at one table and have ten chairs and two flipcharts positioned on stands. Both conference rooms must have at least three windows on at least one wall that enables sunlight to augment the artificial room lighting; comfortable arm chairs that can be easily moved; walls that can accomodate the use of push pins and tape and free for posting flipchart paper, maps, etc.; and water and glasses for each table in sufficient quantities to accomodate the number of participants sitting at each table. Three additional rooms that can accomodate eight participants seated around one table must be provided. Each additional room must have one flipchart on a stand. A twenty-four hour hold and access to all assigned rooms must be provided. The conference and additional rooms must be in the same building with controllable air conditioning/heating; either adjoining or near one another; and relatively soundproof, smoke-free, clean and well-vented. Continuous beverage break service must be provided with caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, selection of caffeinated and decaffeinated teas, selection of herbal teas, and hot chocolate. Beverages should be refreshed twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. A television with at least a 25" screen, video cassette recorder, overhead screen, cassette tape player, and slide projector must be provided and in good repair within one hour of request. Photocopy service must be provided on a cost per use basis within one hour of request. Recreational facilities must be provided and shall include: walking/running in safe and convenient areas; indoor pool; exercise equipment for aerobics; and equipment for weight training, if possible. Access to at least two or three outdoor areas (and indoor bad weather alternatives) for three days of each stay. The areas should be approximately 30' by 50' and not visible or within obtrusive earshot of each other; should have sufficient flat ground to allow groups of eight to twelve participants to work together in team assignments; have shade during spring and summer months; be level and free of physical barriers; and be no more than a couple of minutes walk from the conference and additional rooms. Year round, locked storage space between facility usage for crates shall be provided. A facility to cash personal checks (out-of-state), traveler's checks, and U.S. Treasury checks shall be provided. The Government reserves the right of first selection over the rooms it wishes to use in the event other groups are using the facility during the same time period. The location of the facility must be within a two hours drive or 100 miles of Washington, DC. (0134)
