BAY, CA. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to
remove the existing floating pier and guide piles and install a new
floating pier and guide piles, the work includes but is not limited to
the following:(A) remove and dispose of existing floating docks, pile
guides, fender piles, and associated facilities; (B) Fabricate and
install a new floating pier system with fendering system and cleats for
each of the three docks; A -- 55'x6', B -- 50'x6', C -- 150'x10' in
three sections; (C) replace existing piling system with 12" square
concrete pile and modify existing walers; (D) Provide and install new
landing platform and gangway for inboard North pier; and (E) provide
and install new landing platform and gangway for outboard North pier.
Modify existing mounting to support the weight of the additional brow.
Estimated Range $250,000 to $500,000. Performance period is 60
calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Anticipatebid issue
date is 16 June, 1997. SIC Code for this procurement is 1629, Small
Business size standard is small if its average annual receipts for its
preceeding 3 fiscal years do not exceed $17.0 million. Only written

minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,performance
and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
