under this advertisement. Each of the contracts for architect-engineer
services, with a $5,000 guaranteed amount, will be for two years with
individual work orders being issued for design, document preparation
& contract administration on individual projects. Project types to
include renovations of existing facilities and the site adaptation of
USPS CADD based plans. No work order may exceed $250,000 in fees. The
contract may be renewed for three one-year periods. Total contract
cannot exceed 2,500,000. This contract is to cover the East Coast area
of Central Florida, however, it may be used occasionally within other
areas of the Florida. Firms that possess the qualifications to perform
the services described above are invited to submit (2) two copies each
of completed SF255 "Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire for Specific Project", SF254 "Architect-Engineer and
Related Services Questionnaire" for itself and SF254 for each of its
proposed consultants to the office shown above, postmarked no later
than June 23, 1997. The selection will be conducted with the combined
use of the submitted SF255 and SF254's. Interested firms with more than
one office must indicate on its SF255 the staffing composition of the
office in which the work will be performed. Firms must have a minimum
of two registered architects, have a minimum of two years Autocadd
experience, and must be able to provide the service of at least one of
each to the following disciplines (each registered in Florida):
mechanical, electrical, structural and civil engineering. Any of the
above engineering disciplines ma be provided through outside consultant
firms. Consideration will be given to firms responding to this
advertisement in accordance with foregoing instruction in the following
order of preference: (1) Brevard and Palm Beach Counties in Florida,
(2) State of Florida, (3) Out of State. There is no restriction on the
geographical location of consultants. Firms must provide proof of or
demonstrate the ability to obtain errors and omissions insurance,
minimum of $200,000 per claim, with submittals (two copies).
Participation of minority business enterprises is a consideration in
U.S. Postal Service architect-engineer selections. It is prohibited to
pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or
firm contingent upon, or resulting from, award of this contract. No
other general notification of this project will be made. Submittals
will not be retained or returned. This is not a request for proposals.
