Blair Hayes (202) 401-5404, Contract Specialist, LaSandra Brown (202) 401-5399 The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) intends to solicit and negotiate with NETWORK on a sole-source basis for services to provide technical assistance to States to promote a greater understanding of the service delivery role of the community colleges in preparing welfare clients for employement. Under the Job Skills Preparation Capacity-Building Initiative, a series of 10 two-day workshops will be conducted at community colleges. The workshops will provide an overview of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); help design curricula for short-term training programs for welfare recipients; and foster collaborations between Human Service Agencies, employers, local commerce and economic development agencies and community college staff.
