E-MAIL: RFQ 1425-97-SQ-30-07150, demarcus@lc.usbr.gov. Scope of work. -- The Contractor shall furnish and install ten (10)industrial quality, evaporative coolers. The evaporative coolers shall be Model No. H1480 as manufactured by Goettl Air Conditioning, P.O. Box 52029, Phoenix, AZ 85072-2029 or equal, having the following salient characteristics: 1. AMCA rated 7,890 cfm @ 0.40-inch w.g. 2. UL listed 2-hp, 220 volt, 3-phase, 60 hertz electric motor 3. Side discharge 4. Minimum of 5,559 sq. in. effective pad area 5. NEMA 4X enclosed motor starter 6. 1/2-in. Solenoid valve 7. 3/8-in. Shutoff valve 8. Corrosion resistant coating over heavy-gauge galvanized steel housing. The Contractor shall modify the existing cooler supports and discharge duct as necessary to accommodate the new evaporative coolers. The coolers shall be furnished and plumbed for a once-through water system. The Contractor shall complete all electrical wiring, conduit, and terminations. The electrical installation shall be in accordance with the 1996 NEC Code. The installation shall be complete, including miscellaneous fittings, flashing, supports, sealants, wiring, or other materials necessary to install the evaporative coolers. B. Spare parts. -- The Contractor shall furnish one (1) complete set of evaporative media pads, one (1) blower belt, and one (1) solenoid valve. C. Manuals. -- The Contractor shall furnish three (3) sets of the Manufacturer's installation, operation, and maintenance manuals. D. Warranty. -- The Contractor shall warrant free from defects for one (1) year the material and workmanship. II. Description of existing equipment: The existing evaporative coolers are believed to be Model H1480 manufactured by Goettl Bros. Metal Products, Inc. They were installed in 1966. Details of the installation on the attached drawings shall be verified by the Contractor in the field. The existing built-up roof of the machine shop has since been covered by a urethane foam roof. The Contractor shall exercise due caution during the removal and installation of the evaporative coolers not to damage the roof. Plywood or other material shall be laid down to prevent damage to the urethane foam roof. Areas of the roof previously damaged by water leakage will be repaired by the Government at a later date. The work is located at the Bureau of Reclamation, Machine Shop Building located at Highway 95, Parker Dam, San Bernardino County, CA. The estimated range of construction is $25,000 and $100,000. This acquisition is unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered. Requests for the complete Quotation packages must be received by close of business, June 2, 1997. The Request for Quotation closing date will be June 12, 1997 at close of business. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be utilized in this action (written quotations will be received). The Standard Industrial Classification code is 1711.
