PRESOLICITATION NOTICE -- The National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, Maryland has a requirement for increased chilled water capacity. The work shall include removal of two (2) existing 3000 ton refrigerant-12 chiller units and replacement with two (2) 3500 ton refrigerant 134a units. There are two options for increased quantities of work: 1) Electrical transformer exchange, installation of Government supplied condenser water pumps, and construction of an additional cooling tower cell. 2) removal of two (2) additional existing 3000 ton refrigerant 12 chiller units and replacement with two (2) additional 3500 ton refrigerant 134a units. The existing chilled water generation system shall remain operational during demolition and phasing of installation. The magnitude of construction for all work inclusive of options is more than $10,000,000. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business (SIC code 1542, size standard $17M). Plans and specification will be available for purchase at the time the solicitation is issued on or about June 18, 1997.
