Rozier, 202-283-1296 This notice represents an amendment to the combined notice/solicitation issued on May 16, 1997 for the acquisition of Unisys maintenance services. The proposals due date for the RFP solicitation no. TIRNO-97-00048 is hereby extended to 2:00 p.m. (EST) June 11, 1997. The following are clarifications to questions/issues that were presented in writing by interested parties; (1) This requirement is for commercial items (including installation, warranty and maintenance), offerors shall include, in the installation and warranty/maintenance plans in their proposals, the use of diagnostics specific to the the Unisys ES22600 system in order to be determined technically acceptable. (2) The required customer references are for responsibility determination purposes only, past performance will not be a technical evaluation factor. (3) The IRS requires four Dot matrix printers, pull tractors and paper handlers. A close parenthesis ) was omitted, and should have been inserted after "(Each unit configured 22600-WSI, Worksurface for Console (40" x 67")" and before " [1]". (4) The GFE which will be relocated and installed/configured is currently operational, and in use, within a system with the exact mainframe configuration as the present requirement. (5) While the Contractor is trying to supervise the physical connection of all GFE peripheral components and sees a problem with the group they are supervising, the Contractor shall first attempt to resolve the problem with the person they are supervising. If this attempt fails, the Contractor shall notify the COTR and Contracting Officer in writing immediately. (6) This solicitation seeks full and open competition and is not a small business set-aside. (7) The IRS requires a 12-month warranty period and a 3-month optional maintenance period that shall include labor and parts. Offerors shall propose a separate price for the optional maintenance period. (8) The IRS requires "ES22600-BMC, Block Channel Module (BMC) w/4 BMCs [10]", in other words ten (10) BMCs, totaling forty (40) sub-channel interfaces.
