Piunno, Code 02631A, Contract Specialist 703-602-0951 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to procure up to a total of twenty-five (25) MK 17 Mod Magnetic Minesweeping Cable Assemblies. The basic procurement will include twelve (12) Cable Assemblies, with an option for thirteen (13) Assemblies, Interim Spare Parts, Associated Data, Technical Manuals, Engineering Services and Support.. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source contract to Cogent Defense Systems, Queensway Meadows, Newport, GWENT NP9 OSS, United Kingdom, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Cogent is currently delivering prototype cables to the Government for prototype testing. Cogent is the sole designer of the MK 17 Mod 3 Magnetic Minesweeping Cable Assemblies and the only company that possesses the in-depth technical knowledge of the equipment requirement to satisfactorily perform the work under the contract contemplated herein.
