Smith, Contracating Officer The National Weather Service (NWS) of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for the procurement of up to 999 minimum/maximum temperature system (MMTS) instrument shelter & temperature sensor subassemblies (ISTSS) to include manufacturing to Government supplied design specifications & testing of the units. The MMTS ISTSS will be a part of the min/max temperature system that collects, processes, & displays ambient temperature data, stores the min/max temperature until reset, & displays the min/max temperature upon query. The instrument shelter & temperature sensor subassembly does not require any power to operate. The MMTS ISTSS shall be assembled from molded plastic parts & shall house an off-the-shelf thermistor as the temperature sensor. All artwork, parts lists, and schematics necessary to reproduce the ISTSS will be provided by the NWS. Government acceptance of the MMTS ISTSS shall be contingent upon the unit successfully passing all tests associated with the Contractor's & the Government's Quality Assurance (QA) programs. The Q/A provisions follow a logical sequence providing thorough testing of production units prior to production release followed by limited testing of production units to demonstrate compliant operation in the absence of infant-mortality.
