material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the 41
Foot Group Galveston Small Boats (CG-41UTB) including but not limited
to the following minimum items: (1) Air Test Skeg, (2) Renew
Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (3) Renew and test valves, (4) Clean
and inspect Starboard Fuel Tank, (5) Clean and inspect Port Fuel Tank,
(6) Provide temporary logistics and (7) Routine Drydocking, etc.
Indefinite items include but are not limited to the following items:
(1) Welding Repairs, (2) Renew aluminum frames, stiffeners, and
brackets, (3) Renew Skeg, (4) Renew Cabin and Pilothouse, (5) Renew
Starboard Stern Tube, (6) Renew Port Stern Tube, (7) Forepeake Scuttle,
(8) Engine Room Scuttle, (9) Lazerette Scuttle, (10) Remove, inspect
and reinstall starboard propeller shaft, (11) Remove, inspect and
reinstall port propeller shaft, (12) Renew Starboard strut, (13) Renew
Port Strut, (14) Renew Starboard Propeller Shaft Coupling, (15) Renew
Port Propeller Shaft Coupling, (16) Straighten Starboard Shaft, (17)
Straighten Port Shaft, (18) Renew Strut Bearings, (19) Remove, inspect
and reinstall port rudder assembly, (20) Preserve Main Deck with 1
Coat of Primer, (21) Preserve Main Deck with 2nd coat of primer,
non-skid and top coat, (22) Preserve aluminum underwater body (TBT),
(23) preserve aluminum underwater body (Intersleek), (24) Preserve
aluminum underwater body (Epoxy), (25) Preserve freeboard with 1 coat
of primer, (26) Preserve freeboard finish coats and stripes, (27)
Ultrasonic testing, etc. Vessel is a 41 Foot Utility Boat. Vessel
length is 40 feet, 8 inches; width is 13 feet, 6 inches. Vessel
homepier is Galveston, TX. Vessel availability schedule is to be
defined separetely for each vessel. Contract to be issued for a one (1)
year (base) wih an option for one (1) additional year. The performance
period is for 21 days. The place of performance is geographically
restricted to within 50 nautical miles of Galveston, TX. There will be
a non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified check or
money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation
issuance. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 01 Jul 1997 from our office
location, Commander (vpl-1), Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic,
