The Federal Bureau of Investification (FBI) has a requirement to renovate approximately 45,000 square feet of the JEH-FBI Building at 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535. The work will be concentrated on the fifth (5th) floor and the penthouse of the FBI Headquarters facility. (1) The major items of work on the 5th floor will consists generally of the following construction: demolition, construction of sound rated pertitions and doorways, installation of raised access flooring, installation of a dedicated chilled water HVAC system, installation of cable tray and conduit, installation of new electrical distribution system in existing underfloor raceway and sprinkler system modifications. (2) Major items of work in the Penthouse will generally consist of: modification of a louvered screen wall, construction of a steel superstructure and dunnage, installation of a weather tight pump enclosure, installation of redundant air cooled chillers on the new dunnage, modification of existing low voltage switchgear and installation of an automatic transfer switch. The estimated cost of this work is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Copies of drawings and specifications will be available by mail only. Estimated mailing date is June 30, 1997. A Pre-Bid conference and site investigation are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 1997, at 10:00 a.m. local time, at FBI Headquaters Facility, Washington, D.C. 20535. A 72 hour advance notice is required to attend the conference and site investigation. Because of security requirements, interested parties must furnish the Names, Date of Birth, Place of Birth and Social Security Numbers of the individuals who will be attending the site investigation and pre-bid conference. All solicitation requests must be in writing. Specifications and detailed requirements will be furnished with the solicitation, BY MAIL REQUEST ONLY, for a deposit of $200, (LIMIT OF TWO (2) SETs PER FIRM). Checks should be made payable to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Bid sets will be issued on a first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bid sets will be sent by mail only.
