The government requests proposals for the design, furnishing and installation of a fire suppression system for the Melrose Antebellum Mansion. The house is located in Natchez, MS and is the centerpiece of Natchez National Historical Park, a unit of the National Park Service. The design shall be based on the requirements of NFPA 13-94 for Ordinary Hazard, Group 1 Occupancy, and must be sealed by a registered engineer. The base system to be installed will include protection for the basement and attic of the structure, each of which encompass about 4,000 sf. The first and second floors are also approximately 4,000 sf each, and will be included in the design. Installation of the system on the first and second floors may be awarded under the resultant contract, subject to funding limitations. Proposal evaluation criteria will be price and past performance. Offerors will be required to demonstrate in their proposal that they have past experience in designing and installing fire suppression systems. The government intends to evaluate the proposals received and make award of a contract without conducting discussions. Magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
