will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of REHABILITATION
OF FEDERAL STREAMBANK STABILIZATION PROJECTS, 1997, MISSOURI RIVER,
MILE 800 TO 753, NEBRASKA AND SOUTH DAKOTA. Bids will be opened on or
about 14 August 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to
both large and small business participation. Contractors interested in
inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Project
Manager's Office, Gavins Point Project, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
P.O. Box 710, Yankton, South Dakota 57078-0710, Telephone (402)
667-7875/7873. FAX (402) 667-8536/9919. The work will include the
following: (Approx. quantities) The project is located along the left
and right banks of the Missouri River, between river miles 800 and 753
in South Dakota and Nebraska. The project consists of rehabilitating
2055 feet of revetment, 70 feet of refusal. This work will require
placement of approximately 6235 tons of stone. The estimated
construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract.
The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after
notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt
of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated
damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed.
Performance and payment bonds will be required. All requests for
solicitation packages should be made in writing and no later than 14
days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished
if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets
be limited to one (1) per firm. An order blank for ordering plans and
specifications is furnished below. Orders shall be by written request
