APPROACHES TO MELT SPINNING SOL DAAM01-97-Q-0026 POC Tandee I. Carr
(410) 671-4398 The U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command
(CBDCOM) intends to negotiate with M Structures, Inc. of Baltimore,
Maryland for a new Firm Fixed Price contract, for the development and
building of prototype devices for production of uniform fibers. The
effort will consist of providing two prototype devices; one using
sonically induced Rayleigh break-up of liquid streams for length
control, the other inducing break-up via magnetic techniques and
providing operator training. M Structures, Inc is the only contractor
that has the extensive experience necessary in both melt spinning and
sonic/magnetic pulse technology to perform this effort. See Note 22
